The 6th Annual National Arab American Service Day

The 6th Annual National Arab American Service Day will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2010 in states and cities throughout the country. The service day coincided with National AmeriCorps Week. Over the past four years, thousands of Arab American volunteers organized dozens of community service projects throughout the country and made a positive impact on their communities.
In 2009, AAFS with over 200 community Arab American volunteers and with the help of our friends Food for Less employees supported AAFS' with keeping 'Chicago Green and Clean'. AAFS mulched and cleaned up Chicago's lakeshore front.
Join us this year in our efforts to continue and grow our impact across the many communities. AAFS will soon post its 2010 project and details.

AAFS 6th Annual Back to School

Last year, with the generous support of community members, AAFS provided 120 elementary and high school students with bookbags filled with complete sets of school supplies. This year, AAFS calls on your support to help send at least 150 of our students back to school fully prepared for the upcoming school year of 2010.
We urge you to use this opportunity to give back and bring joy to our Arab-American students, and all youth who deserve the best education possible.
We are asking you to contribute $20 or more towards our 6th Annual Back to School Drive, or you may choose to donate a new book bag filled with the necessary school supplies. School supplies include: bookbags, folders, pens, pencils. Pencil boxes, small scissors, glue, crayons, markers, rulers, and notebooks.

AAFS celebrates Eid Al-Fitr (Breaking of the Fast Holiday) bringing joy to many of our low-income families and children. Through the support of our generous donors, our families, children and seniors recieve wonderful gifts to help alleviate the pressures of today's economy.
Adopt a Family and join the many individuals who contribute to making a difference in the lives of many. Help us to alleviate the financial burden off of our families. Bring a smile to our children and make our seniors feel wanted!!!

AAFS 4th Annual Walk in Faith and NOT in Fear coming Saturday, October 3, 2010 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at Lake katherine Park in Palos Heights. Join hundreds of community members walk against breast cancer and domestic violence and listen to strong women who have stood against such illnesses and made a difference in their lives.
Support AAFS and become a walker. AAFS will soon post more information on how to join.
